Clear the Noise & Find Your Truth
Step 1: Reflect with Power
Before you can set unstoppable goals for the year ahead, you need to pause and get crystal clear on where you’ve been. Reflection isn’t about beating yourself up—it’s about powerfully owning your story and using it to fuel your next chapter.
I love a good sports reference. If you lose a game, shit even if you win a game!- you always go back to your meetings with your team to discuss how & why you won or loss. Reflect, reflect, reflect & learn, learn, learn. Only assholes make the same mistakes twice. Let's not be assholes this year, k?
Grab your journal & ask yourself these game-changing questions:
- What am I most proud of from this past year? Own your wins!
- Where did I fall short or feel stuck? No judgment, just awareness
- What habits made me feel unstoppable? Which ones held me back?
- What limiting beliefs are you still carrying? (Example: “I’m not consistent.”)
- What excuses keep showing up when things get tough?
- What habits need to go so you can step into your best self this year?
- 3 things you did this year that made you proud.
- A challenge you overcame that showed your resilience.
- A way you showed up for yourself (or others) like a badass
This is your reminder: You’re already capable. You’ve done hard things before, and you can do them again. ⚡ It’s time to cut the dead weight. Write down what you're done carrying into this year—whether it's self-doubt, overthinking, or putting yourself last. Burn that list if you have to.This isn’t about perfection—it’s about honesty. Write it ALL down.
Step 2: Set Bold Goals
It’s time to stop playing defense with your life and start calling the shots. This week, we’re getting serious about setting bold, unapologetic goals for the year—goals that stretch you, scare you a little, and make you feel unstoppable. Why bold goals? Because playing small won’t cut it anymore.
- Vague goals = vague results.
- Bold, specific goals? They create clarity and momentum.
This isn’t about “I want to get healthier” or “I’ll try to be more consistent.” It’s about powerful statements like:
- “I will complete 100 workouts by June 1st.”
- “I will double my revenue by September 1st.”
- “I will read 12 personal growth books this year.”
Here’s the Formula for Bold Goals:
- Be Specific: What exactly do you want to achieve?
- Set a Deadline: Give yourself a finish line.
- Make it Measurable: Can you track progress?
- Go Big, But Real: Stretch yourself, but keep it achievable.
This isn’t just goal-setting. It’s goal claiming.
Step 3: Commit to the Process
You’ve set bold goals. You’ve broken them down into clear steps. Now comes the part where most people fall off—the commitment to the process. Here’s the truth: Goals don’t care about motivation. Results come from daily actions, even when you don’t feel like it.
You don’t need to be perfect—you need to show up. Missed a workout? Get back on track the next day. Didn’t hit your goal last week? Adjust, don’t quit. The small daily wins matter more than occasional bursts of effort. I talk about microwins here on a previous newsletter.
The key to real progress? Turn actions into non-negotiables. These are the things you do no matter what.
Examples of Non-Negotiables:
- Workout 4 days a week (scheduled like a meeting you can’t miss.)
- Drink 100 oz of water every day.
- Journal for 5 minutes each morning before your day starts.
Pro Tip: Stack habits. Want to build a journaling routine? Stack it after your morning coffee. The fewer decisions, the easier it gets.
Step 4: No Excuses
You’ve reflected, set bold goals, and committed to the process. Now it’s time for the hardest part—OWNERSHIP. No more blaming the schedule, the weather, your mood, or the chaos around you (kids included!). The results you get this year will be a direct reflection of how you show up every day. This isn’t about being harsh. It’s about being real. If you want to achieve more, you have to own your actions—all of them.
Excuses sound like:
- “I’m too tired.”
- “I’m not seeing progress yet.”
- “It’s just not the right time.”
Ownership sounds like:
- “I’m tired, but I’ll show up anyway.”
- “Progress is happening even when I can’t see it yet.”
- “The right time is when I decide it’s right.”
The difference? Power. Excuses keep you small—ownership makes you unstoppable. This is a whole new personality trait we are unlocking, and it will make you unstoppable in life. Extreme Ownership is where it is it.
